2012 FISH Swim-A-Thon

Support Your Team & Show Your Thanks; Come Swim

Our Swim-A-Thon® is for the benefit our entire FISH Team!

Chair-Person: Christina Ewing

At the Fish we are truly privileged to have so many great swimmers. We are also very fortunate to have dedicated and caring coaches who strive to bring out the best in everyone. It's time to show them how much we appreciate all that they do for us. Swimmers, we are asking you to come swim as many laps as you can on Saturday April 14th for the FISH team and our coaches. Every lap swum raises money for your team and will benefit all those swimming and working for the FISH.

Keep in mind that the FISH swim team is a nonprofit organization.   That means the team's sole purpose is to develop each swimmer into the best athlete possible. As a non-profit organization the FISH relies on your generous support to maintain its high standard of quality. The Swim-A-Thon® is a fun and exciting way to raise funds needed. Yes, we pay dues but there are many more expenses involved in running a successful team like the FISH.

By participating in the 2012 Swim-A-Thon® you are helping your team raise money to create special opportunities for athletes that otherwise would not be possible.  For instance:

·       Funds raised allow the FISH to invite Olympians like Ian Crocker and (more recently) Tara Kirk to our pool to provide a valuable and memorable experience for all swimmers on the team. (Remember: Kirk's visit was a result of last year's Swim-A-Thon!)

·       Our coaches' travel expenses are covered through fundraising moneys so that these expenses are not rolled over to the swimmers who are traveling.

·       Funds also allow the FISH team to help make all swimmers feel special and recognize their dedication by providing unique tokens such as special swim caps, memorable USA Swimming patches and much more.

·       Most notably funds raised provide scholarship money to potentially great swimmers in our community who could otherwise not afford to swim and compete. To the many children who receive assistance, the opportunity to be part of our team is precious!

This year we are striving to have each swimmers raise $100 or more. The Swim-A-Thon is not a clinic that has an admission fee; it is our most important fund raiser which needs genuine involvement. Swimmers should be coming to show their thanks and support their team.

So, how many laps can you swim? We know swimming is your strength. Therefore....We challenge each group to the following.....
