G. The Benefits of a Strong Summer - Fall 2001

Fall, and the start of the short course season, is usually where the benefits of a solid summer of long course training can show up.  The summer of 2001 was the first summer that Kate trained with the Awesome FISH.  Not only did Kate take advantage of all the practices and opportunities that she was presented with, but her performance at those practices was rock solid and consistently strong.

To say that this was reflected in her performance during the fall  season would be an understatement; her fall season was nothing short of spectacular, in a breath-taking, dramatic fashion, as she qualified for the US Open in the 800 SCM Free at the November Open.

Chaeck out the night-and-day differences between Kate's SCY times before the start of Summer 2001 and Fall 2001.

Even more amazingly, Kate's 500 and 100 Free times were splits on her way out to her sub 17 minute 1650!!
