Norman Wright

Norman Wright has 14 years of coaching experience.  For the past five years, Norm was the Head Coach for the Coffman swim team and Lima swim team in Dayton, OH.  It was during his five year tenure that the Coffman swim team for the first time reached finals a the  YMCA Short Course Nationals in 2007.  The men's team finished 38th out of 215 participating teams.  His achievements also include:

  • top-8 YMCA Senior National finalists in short course and long course events
  • Southwest Ohio Swim League and Zone records
  • Ohio High School and Kentucky High School finalists
  • multiple Junior National qualifiers
  • coached over 50 YMCA top 16 times; three #1 and four #2 top 16 age group swims in both individual events and relays
  • academic and swimming All Americans while coaching at Asbury College.
Norman graduated from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky in 2003 majoring in Psychology with an emphasis in Sports Psychology and Coaching. He is a Level 3 (educated 4) certified ASCA coach.  He comes from a swimming family; mom coaching 10 and under swimmers and four siblings who all swam growing up.

Norm lives in DC with his dog Charlie.
