David Pursley

David Pursley - FISH Age Group Coach

Coach David joins The FISH from a long line of swimmers and coaches in his family.  His father is the head coach of British Swimming, his mother was a long time age group coach with two of his aunts, and his brother currently coaches at Arizona State University. His family's passion for swimming was instilled in him at a very young age and he has always appreciated what the sport has done for him.

David graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Speech Communication.  He also attended the University of Arizona where he swam and was a member of the 2008 NCAA Championship team.  Having been coached by some of the best coaches in the United States, he has gained extensive knowledge of all the latest stroke techniques and has experienced ways of implementing them which will be helpful in coaching the FISH athletes.

Although David is confident in his ability to write workouts and teach stroke technique, he believes greatest asset is that of a motivator.  He was captain of his club, high school, and college team. David's passion for the sport is unsurpassed.

After living both in Colorado Springs and Salt Lake City for much of his life, David developed a passion for the outdoors.  He is also a sports enthusiast and enjoys cheering for all the Colorado professional teams.  He is a very passionate Denver Broncos fan.

When you see David on deck, be sure to introduce yourself and say Hi!
