Alissa Avilov
Alissa has never let setbacks discourage her. Throughout her six seasons with the FISH, Alissa has experienced serious shoulder problems. By her sophomore year in high school, her doctors recommended that Alissa only swim for half an hour each practice. When others may have given up, Alissa became dedicated to her rehabilitation through physical therapy and her short practices. Because of her refusal to give up, Alissa was proud to compete in PVS Senior Championships and VHSL State Championships.
In addition to swimming for the FISH, Alissa loves to sing and act. During high school, Alissa found time to direct a play at South Lakes High School. This summer, Alissa will coach her local summer swim team.
Alissa's positive attitude is an inspiration to the entire
team. The FISH would like to wish
Alissa good luck as she attends Boston College as a member of the BC Eagles Swimming and Diving.
