FISH of the Month: Nick Spicer

Written by Coach Steven

Congratulations to Nick Spicer for earning the FISH of the Month for December!  December was a great month for Nick with a stellar performance at Christmas Champs, and at every single practice over Winter Break.  However, this is not a new trend in Nick's tenure with the FISH, one built upon by hard work, attention to detail, and sacrifice.

At the young age of 10, Nick demonstrates many traits of a senior swimmer.  Nick often attends 2 long course morning practices a week, and boasts an amazing cumulative practice attendance of over 120%.  Of course, practice attendance means nothing if the swimmer is not fully engaged.  However, Nick works hard at every practice with an effort level similar to his attendance percentage.  This is why Nick continues to improve so much and stand out as a top contender in PVS.  He always has a great attitude at practice with a passion for the sport surpassed by no other swimmer.

Nick is the Gunslinger in Advanced Age Group, with a competitiveness that fuels excellence within himself and from his teammates.  Nick is a leader by example, who earns the respect of his teammates by his hard work in practice and his genuine personality.  It's no wonder Nick is so popular with his peers,  and has the upmost respect from all of his coaches.  Nick is a true joy to coach.  His positive attitude and sense of humor is contagious, whether it be mint-berry crunch or any other of his many comic reliefs.

We are very proud of Nick, and foresee a very bright future for him.

Congratulations Nick, and keep up the good work!
