Coach Meredith
David comes to the Fish swim team from southern New Jersey. She started her competitive swimming
career at the age of 5 and never looked back. Coach Meredith made the Zone team for the first time at age
10, was second in the NJ State High School meet her junior and senior year, and
went for several years to Junior Nationals. Coach Meredith swam all 4 years for the College of William
and Mary where she broke the school records in the 100 and 200 backstrokes and
was part of several record breaking relay teams. Her junior year she helped the William and Mary Women's team
win the conference for the first time in the school's history. In May of 2008 Coach Meredith graduated
from William and Mary with a degree in Art History. After graduating, Coach Meredith spent a year in England at
the University of Nottingham where, in 2009, she received her master's degree
in Art History.
Coach Meredith
feels that swimming has given her so much - great friends, great experiences,
and a great work ethic to name a few and so she was eager to begin
coaching. She started her coaching
career in the summer of 2006 at the Stratford swim team with a winning
season. From there she went on to
be a coach for the Charleston swim team and for the past 2 years she has been
coaching for the Burlington County YMCA Hurricanes swim team. She has had the opportunity to work
with all age groups and talent levels at the Hurricanes. Both seasons with the Hurricanes she
traveled with the national team to Florida for YMCA nationals. Coach Meredith feels that her
experience both as a swimmer and a coach has prepared her for her new position
at the Fish. She very much looks
forward to working with the other coaches and to meeting the swimmers and their
families!
