Dear FISH Parents --

Please make sure that your swimmers enter and exit the GMU facility from the back via Parking Lot C.  Swimmers will enter and exit through the lower door on the corner of the building and not through the front doors. There were cars in the circle in the front of the building which is an emergency access area and cannot be blocked by cars.

Please observe GMU's pick up and drop off policy.

Thank you very much!

The 2010 FISH Christmas Party was a huge success thanks to Vickie Longosz who put it all together.  Swimmers and coaches bowled, shared gifts and the holiday spirit.  Check out the pictures !!

Congratulations Jessica!  We are very proud of you.

Here is a report from the Canadian/American Paralympic Championships. The Rogers' family and Coach Andy headed north in a fully packed van, and had a long and snowy drive to Toronto, Canada-with a trip through the area of Niagara Falls. We had dinner there, overlooking the falls, although our view was misty and cloudy. Arriving Wednesday evening in Toronto, we spent Thursday getting the lay of the land and the water (the pool). The land is COLD, the gas prices here are $4.80 a gallon and the sales tax is 13%. All of that took a bit of getting used to, but the pool facilities were more familiar, as they were somewhat similar to those at GMU.

Best Times are compiled by Coach Ray

FISH Swimmers experienced incredible time drops at the 2010 Christmas Championships, a result of all the hard work put in over the course of the season so far.  Congratulations to all those athletes who made Junior Olympic cuts, achieved best times, and qualified for the finals.  The meet was a tremendous experience!

There were a few athletes who stood out at the meet.  The FISH of the Meet, a new concept which began at this meet, was Madelyn Donohoe.  Madelyn, who swims at Wakefield, went best times in every event she swam.  In addition to dropping over 2 minutes at this meet, she left the meet with 6 new Junior Olympic qualifying times!  Madelyn attributed her success to the long course morning practices she has been attending on a weekly basis.  She also swam during the summer with the FISH in Reston and benefited from long course as well as stroke mechanic practices.  Madeline had a head start going into the Fall season given her practice attendance over the summer.
