Claire Wolff is May's FISH of the Month.  At the 2010 FISH Derby, Claire's performances caught the attention of the FISH coaching staff and teammates.  Claire has been making steady improvements all season, but the FISH Derby was a breakthrough meet for her.

Claire achieved Eastern Zone qualifying times for the first time in her swimming career.  "Making the Zones team is something I have been trying to do forever!" Claire expressed when told of her achievement.

Leading up to the Derby, Claire had been attending both morning and afternoon practices regularly.  At practices, Claire has been a consistently focused and hard worker. The FISH coaches have all enjoyed Claire's positive attitude. Her attitude has been the key to her success.

At the Derby, Claire knocked seven seconds off of her entry time in the 50 meter breaststroke!  In the 100 breaststroke, Claire is currently ranked among the top 100 swimmers in her age group, nationally.  With her recent success, Claire has become even more determined to improve.  She has been attending long course practices in the morning, and has been focused on improving the power in her kick.  Claire says that getting up for morning practices is no problem for her and that she enjoys the challenge of swimming in a 50 meter pool.

Claire is joined on the FISH with her older sister Veronica, who practices in Level 3.  When not swimming, Claire enjoys playing soccer and running.
