"A History Making FISH"

written by Andy Cipriano

This season, an amazing thing has happened within our great program. For the first time in FISH history, a swimmer has qualified for AAAA times in every single event for their age group. That FISH is Isabella Rongione.

Not only has this never happened before in FISH history, but it is extremely rare for any program!

During the 2008-2009 short course season, Isabella made the move from Mini FISH all the way to Terrific FISH in a very short time span. This transition helped prepare her for a memorable summer which resulted in her sweeping all of her events at the 2009 PVS Long Course Age Group Championships, and winning multiple events at the summer Eastern Zones meet. Isabella's confidence grew and she continued to do very special things during the 2009-2010 short course season.

In her first meet of the 2009-2010 Fall/Winter season, Isabella accomplished AAAA times in four of her six events. From that point on, she has continually improved by coming to at least one Long Course practice per week and almost every regularly scheduled practice. This hard work and dedication has translated into making in onto the 100 Top Times in the Nation in all of her events. In her final meet of the Fall/Winter season at the NASA Showcase Classic in Coral Springs, FL she did not disappoint with eight personal best times.

The FISH Derby was just a few weeks ago and Isabella had a great showing in her first Long Course meet of the season and accomplished AAAA times in all the events she swam.

As if this was not challenging enough, Isabella has also chosen to measure herself against the 11-12 year old girls. Some of their events are not offered to the 10 year olds but Isabella has held her own and acquired AAA times in many short course and long course events.

Here is a list of the AAAA times for 10 & under girls vs. Isabella's times and National Rank
