Congratulations PVS Zones Team 2010 Eastern Zone SC Champion!
The last day at Zones was as exciting for our swimmers, for us at home, as were the previous days.
The girls continued their convincing performance in the following events:
- Women's 10 & Under 100 Back: Emily Meilus once again had a fantastic performance. She dropped over two seconds and won the race in a time of 1:02.24 setting a new PVS Resident Record.
- Women's 10 & Under 50 Free: Just minutes after the backstroke event, Emily had to position herself once again on the middle starting block next to Isabella Rongione to race in the 50 free. They both had the same seed time of 27.21. Emily came in second with a time of 26.77 followed by Isabella coming in third with a time of 26.87; a time difference not visible to the eye. We thought 28s were really fast a couple of months ago, and now they are swimming 26s?
- Women's 10 & Under 100 Fly: Isabella had just a moment to prepare for the next race, the 100 Fly. Joanne Fu was getting ready as well. Both young ladies had the race of their young lives. Isabella came in second with a personal best time of 1:02.60 dropping nearly 4 seconds off her seed time. What a huge drop! Joanne Fu also had a fantastic race by dropping time in her favorite event, taking second place with a time of 1:07.64. A huge improvement from the beginning of the season. Best time at JO's and now another best time just two weeks later. Wow!
- Women 10 & Under 200 Medley Relay: The PV Relay finishes first with a time of 1:59.23. Emily and Isabella finish the meet with a Gold relay!
On the Men's side, Christopher Murphy also continued his incredible performance today.
- Men's 11 & 12 500 Free: Christopher Murphy had a spectacular race in the 500 Free. He swam a personal best (dropping nearly 2 seconds) of 5:01.17, making this an amazingly fast time and coming in second overall.
- Men's 11 & 12 50 Free: Christopher Murphy breaks the 24 seconds for the first time at finals swimming a 23:90.
- Men's 11 & 12 100 Back: Christopher Murphy had fantastic morning (prelim) swim, swimming a 59:32. However, his final time was another second faster. What a great end of the meet for Chris; 58:36.
This was the best Zones Meet our FISH swimmers have ever had. Congratulations to all!
You worked hard, you came to all the practices, you listened to your coaches, you swam in all the meets you were supposed to be in and we are all very proud of you! Keep up the good work and we are looking forward to a very bright future.
