Ian Crocker

For the past couple of months, Coach Ray was busy organizing and coordinating the stroke clinic with Ian Crocker for his swimmers.  So, finally, on Saturday, April 24th, three-time Olympian, Ian Crocker, came to visit and what a treat it was for all of us.

Ian dazzled us all last weekend when he shared his 18-years of swimming experience with the FISH family.  There was a lot of buzz at the pool in the early morning hours on Saturday at Spring Hill and on Sunday morning at the Madeira School and then again on Saturday evening at Spring Hill when Ian worked with our youngest swimmers.

All groups had the advantage to learn more about butterfly stroke technique, freestyle, turns and more.  Ian's way of engaging the kids by sitting at the lip of the pool, talking directly to them, watching them execute what they just learned, correcting them and have them try the same drill again, was simply amazing.  We all learned a great deal from him and hope to continue to implement some of his ideas during upcoming practices.

We have many pictures, thanks to Lance Gwennup, and most of them will be posted on our FISH Facebook page over the next couple of days.  Here are just a few impressions that we all like to be reminded of.  Oh, and FISH parents,  thank you for your support and for all the wonderful feedback we have received.
