Ian Crocker visiting the FISH - Saturday, April 24th and Sunday, April 25th

Mark you calendar... IAN CROCKER is visiting the FISH to share his knowledge and skills with us!

His world-class talent and accomplishments come from competing at numerous World Championships and the Olympics.  His past accomplishments are quite plentiful with 7 WORLD RECORDS, being a three time Olympic Champion, and a five-time Olympic Medalist.  Some of his other accolades are winning the 100 Fly at Worlds in '03 and '05 and Duel in the Pool in '05 and '07 and being ranked in the TOP 100 in the World in 2 or 3 events in '05, '06 and '07.

Ian Crocker was born in Maine, where he grew up and learned to swim.  After a very successful swimming career up north and the 2000 Sydney Olympics under his belt, he decided to move to Texas to join the Texas Longhorns.  As a result, he was able to compete with some of the top athletes in the world at practice and be a part of the "Texas Trio", with Brendan Hansen and Aaron Peirsol.  His progression with success kept happening, both in and outside the pool, eventually, graduating with a degree in Sociology in 2005 and with another Olympics, the 2004 games in Athens, in hand.

Away from the pool, Crocker enjoys listening to Bob Dylan and playing his guitar.  Since Crocker graduated, he stayed and trained in Texas going to a few World Championships and another Olympics in 2008.   After Beijing, Ian decided to take some time away from the pool and become more creative through his cooking and writing.  In addition, he likes to tinker with his 1965 Ford F-100 which he is trying to restore during his free time.  He loves living in Austin and two of his favorite hangouts are The Office and Good Eats.  During the summer he enjoys being outdoors and engages in biking, hiking, car rallies and grilling.  He is a big fan of the Coen Brothers.  His favorite movie is Slingblade.

Now Crocker is joining us to instill some of his wisdom on us. Our FISH swimmers will have a great opportunity to learn from one of the best swimmers in the world.  Let's keep are eyes and lanes open for our guest, Ian Crocker.
