Friday, April 2nd - Second Day at Zones

The second day at Zones marked another very successful day for our swimmers.  Here are the amazing results and some comments from Coach Ray:

  • Women 10 & Under 100 Yard IM  ISABELLA RONGIONE CAPTURES FIRST - some wise swimmers and coaches have said you really can't complain with gold; even though it was not her best time, FIRST is pretty sweet! Her time: 1:07.18.
  • Women 10 & Under 50 Yard Backstroke EMILY MEILUS GETS FIRST - WITH A BEST TIME!  First time under that magical 30-second barrier!  Her time: 29:60.
  • Women 10 & Under 200 Yard Freestyle MICHELLE OWENS GOES BEST TIME, DROPS NEARLY ONE SECOND.  Her time: 2:03.33.  Girls are starting to get tired, yet they are still swimming very well. I guess 4 girls in a room are probably chatting, giggling, and laughing late into the night.
  • Women 10 & Under 400 Yard Freestyle Relay  SPLITS ARE A LITTLE SLOW, YET THEY STILL CAPTURE FIRST!
  • Men 11-12 200 Yard Freestyle  CHRIS MURPHY BEST TIME IN PRELIMS, FIRST SEED FOR THE EVENING!  Final time, yet another second drop, and a tremendous time of 1:52.70
  • Men 11-12 50 Yard Backstroke  A little slower than the morning prelims, which were a little slower than his lead-off split of 27.53 at JOs for our relay, but still, all in all, very consistent times and a 4th place finish!
  • Men 11-12 200 Yard Freestyle Relay  PV captured second place with Christopher Murphy leading off the relay.
Congratulations to all, what a day!
