Best Times compiled by Coach Ray

Last weekend's Junior Championships turned out to be a great weekend for our program. We had a number of best times and a few athletes achieved their first ever Senior Championship cuts.

Some highlights of the meet included Matt Eshleman qualifying for finals in 3 out of 4 events and dropping time in each of those events, Leigh Siegfried getting her best time in the 100 free almost qualifying for Senior Champs, and Emalee Firestein improving her mile and 100 freestyle.

Kevin Benecki (200 Fly) and Alex Pennington (200 Back) swam their first Senior Champs qualifying times. Others who added new Senior Champs cuts included - Elena Marsilii (200 Back, 100 Free), Brian Via (200 Back) and Becca Yost (100 Free).

It was a great meet for the FISH and it is a great demonstration of how far these athletes have come since the start of the season. I really enjoyed attending this meet as I got to know each athlete a little better than I knew them before and enjoyed hearing some of their great stories. If you see any of these athletes, be sure to wish them congratulations on their great achievements.
