FISH of the Month for December: David Herbert

David_Herbert.jpgWritten by Coach Megan

Although this is only his first year of USA Swimming, David Herbert has already made the Junior Olympics. David has been swimming with the NVSL team, Wakefield Chapel, since he was five years old.  He showed his dedication to the sport of swimming by attending winter break practices with Coach Josh Hyde and the Advanced Age Group swimmers at Spring Hill.
David said he really enjoyed the challenges and stroke instruction he received from Coach Josh during those practices.  He also participates on his middle school swim team where he attends morning practices in Maryland before school two days per week.  David's goals include breaking his summer team's pool record next summer and improving his endurance for the distance events.  He believes he can achieve this with hard work and the help of the FISH coaching staff.
