No matter how demanding or painful a practice set may be,
Megan McCreary always has a smile on her face and a determination to do her
best. Her approach to training and
her "coach ability", make her an easy choice for Swimmer of the Month. Megan
started out the 2009-2010 season with the challenging goal of qualifying for
Spring Junior Olympics. Through
her hard work and determination, Megan is now within 2 seconds of her goal in
the 200 freestyle.
Megan began swimming at age 7 with her summer league and has been a member of the FISH since the age of 9. Since joining the FISH, Megan has made steady progress each season and is now in the Terrific FISH. Megan sets a great example for her teammates and is on track to move up to the Incredible FISH next season.
At the Harvest Moon meet, Megan recorded a total 104 seconds of improvement in her 6 events! When asked, what contributed the most to your improvements at the meet? Megan quickly replied, "Morning practices." Megan has regularly attended morning practices. She said she enjoys the attention to stroke technique she gets at Spring Hill and the Long Course swimming at Wakefield. In addition to morning practices, Megan has recorded near perfect attendance.
Megan set a great example for her teammates. In addition to swimming, Megan enjoys ballet and playing basketball. Megan is joined on the FISH by her younger brother Steven, who swims with the Age Group FISH.
