My experience in Germany was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. It was so much fun! I was really nervous before I went, because I have never been away from my family for so long, much less in a different country! I did get homesick, but it was worth it!
Everything was so new and different there. Everything is so much smaller and compact, and there are lots of little things that the Germans do differently. The language was really confusing, but I did learn a lot. One of my favorite things we did was when we canoed down a river and had a bbq. It was a really fun night!

I also liked the trips to the chocolate factory and the gummi bear factory! The training was also good, because it really helped to get me back into shape before the start of the short-course season. The whole aproach to training was different, in that they were more focused on technique and sprinting, where as I am used to more distance training. It was interesting though! The dryland with their Olympic coach was really hard, but it really helped me too. I enjoyed being with my good friends, and making many new german friends! All in all, my trip to Germany was one that I will never forget!
