Megan McCreary has emerged as an outstanding and dedicated swimmer this summer.
Megan began swimming at age 7 for her local swim team, the Langley Wild Things. After finding a love for swimming, Megan began as a Mini FISH at 9-years-old. From there, she has moved up in the ranks of the FISH Swim Team and will be a Terrific FISH in the fall.
Megan is a diverse swimmer and says that her favorite events are the 50 free, 100 free, 200 IM, and 400 IM. In addition, she qualified for Age Group Champs for the 400 free the first time she swam
Megan's favorite sets include IM sets and a set named after
her:
8 x 50 free descend in groups of 2 (ex. 2 x 50 on :38, 2 x 50 on :37, 2 x 50 on :36, 2 x 50 on :35).
Megan says that her role model is her mother who drives all around Northern Virginia to make sure Megan can make it to practice. Mommy McCreary tells her daughter to stick with the sports you love. If you try your hardest, you'll improve. Mommy McCreary can still be seen swimming at Spring Hill :)
Besides swimming, Megan enjoys ballet and basketball and babysitting her little brother and sister.
This summer, Megan has made it her goal to come to EVERY
practice (including those 4:45am morning practices at the beginning of the
season). So far, so good. With a week and a half of practices
left, Megan has over 100% attendance!
Megan's ultimate goal is to swim with Coach Ray in Awesome FISH. With her determination, Megan will have
no problem swimming in Awesome FISH one day.
