The FISH continued their success on Friday at Age Group
champs, placing numerous swimmers in the top 16 and having a number more
qualify for finals.
Some outstanding swims from the morning sessions included
Amy Owens dropping 3 seconds in her 200 fly from 3:03.05 to 3:00.13, Ryan Lucas
dropping 3.5 seconds in the 100 breaststroke from 1:41.05 down to a 1:37.70,
and Claire Wolff having a fantastic swim in the 100 breaststroke dropping
nearly 8 seconds from 1:51.24 all the way down to 1:43.77! Another swimmer who
has been having a great meet is Bryce Onozuka, he has been getting career best
times in chunks, and things were no different in the 100 breaststroke when he
dropped an astounding 9 seconds from 2:00 to 1:51.51!
As for the finals session, the Fish again, were well
represented. Veronica Wolff was the first swimmer to demonstrate the Fish's
ability by taking 9th place overall in the 200 butterfly in a time
of 2:58.40. Jason Fu and Chris Murphy each collected their second top 5
finishes by each taking 3rd place in the 100 breaststroke and 50 backstroke
respectively. Rounding out our top 8 finishers were Michelle Owens taking 7th
in the 100 breaststroke in 1:37.15, 4th in the 200 freestyle in
2:38.54, and Megan Murphy taking 8th in the 100 back with a time of
1:12.86.
Also, Isabella Rongione won the 200 freestyle in 2:27.45,
which continues her undefeated streak at this year's championship meet.
Be sure to wish all these swimmers congratulations if you
have the opportunity to see them.
