A very small group of Awesome and Incredible FISH (9 guys and 5 girls) made some major waves at the recently concluded Short Course Champs, held at George Mason University and the Claude Moore Rec Center, Thursday March 13th thru Sunday, March 16th.
The FISH finished 3rd as a team, and won 8 of the 38 events at the 2009 Short Course Championships!
This is really quite unbelievable considering the small group, and especially considering that many of our swimmers who will be competing at Sectionals in two weeks didn't even swim their best events, but were entered in off-events instead. However, perhaps it shouldn't come as that much of a surprise, considering how hard-working, dedicated, and team-oriented most of the group has become.
Following is a list of our numerous event winners (champions)!

Congratulation on a great Senior Champs, even though it was a little "crapy" (if you were there Sunday morning, you know what I mean.)
I am very proud of all of you as a TEAM and the effort you all put into making this Senior Champs a success. I am still awaiting the final team scores from PVS, but from my estimate we should end up 3rdd over all (this was accomplished because of your TEAM attitude through cheering for and supporting each other.)
WE ARE NOT DONE YET. Sectionals is in two weeks and we need to continue to work hard and stay focused as Ray and I are expecting you all to swim even faster after two more weeks of preparation. Everyone please make note that we will be working with the timing platform on Tuesday PM and Friday AM practices this week. We will work on individual starts and relay exchanges, every one should plan to attend these practices because without all of you there we are missing parts of the TEAM.
Sectionals entries and updates coming with week.
