Isabella Rongione is Fish of the Month for January.  From last year to this year Isabella was able to progress though the different age groups.  Isabella currently swims with the Terrifc FISH practice group.  She was able to do this by attending both Long Course (LC) and Short Course (SC) morning practices.   The Long Course practices she attends are offered year round.  Long course practices give her the opportunity to work on her stroke technique and speed without the interruption of added turns. As Isabella has become more serious about swimming, she has attended more and more LC practices. Isabella knows that long course training produces the fastest swimmers in the world and she wants to take advantage of this opportunity provided by the FISH.  Isabella has shown immense commitment to her swimming as she continues to develop and improve within the FISH age group program.

During the month of January Isabella was able to attend the Retriever Classic (RAC) Invitational in Baltimore where she had 15 best times and 6 AAA times.  Also at the RAC invitational, in every 9-10 event, Isabella was the fastest 9 year old that swam. This year she has also started swimming the longer events in competition as she strives to continue to break 9-10 age group records.

As a young 9 year old, Isabella is among the top of the PVS rankings.  She is ranked in the top 10 in most events along with being ranked 2nd in the 500 Free.

Along with her coaches, Isabella has a goal of achieving a USA Senior National Qualifying time by the age of 12.  This would be one year before her teammate Kate Ziegler, who achieved her first Senior National cut at the age of 13. Isabella has always looked up to Kate as she continues working her way through the same program that developed the World Record holder and Olympian Kate Ziegler.
