The High School Championship season concluded with two FISH breaking 500 freestyle records.
Matt Benecki, who last year broke the record of Olympian Tom Dolan with his swim in the 500 freestyle, shattered his own mark in this year's race at the Virginia AAA state championships, with an Automatic All-American time of 4:25.72.
Michael Flach was a double winner at the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championships (Metros), winning the 200 I.M. first with a time of 1:51.15, and later picking up a first in the 500 free. Michael bested the previous Metro record in the 500 freestyle that was set in 2000 with his automatic All-American time of 4:26.02.
