FISH of the Month for December: Elena Marsilii

Elena swims with the Awesome FISH and is the youngest of the Marsilli sisters who all swam with the FISH over the years.  Elena is a freshman at Bishop O'Connell High School.  At the Christmas Championship Meet in December, Elena was able to win five events while qualifying for finals in all of her events.  Elena was also able to swim 12 best times at Christmas Champs.

Q: Tell us one of your all time favorite sets you have done in practice? 
15x100 descend groups of 3 all 
(3 @ 1:15 , 3@ 1:30, 3 @ 1:15....)

Q: What are your most favorite events? 
200IM

Q: Who is your most influential person(s) in swimming? and why? 
SISTER "Bubba", because we swam together in AF, and her example in practice. She works really hard and gives me something to live up to.

Q: What started you in swimming? I was the first looser in the summer meets and my sister all swam before me except for my favorite sister Christina.

Q: What is your favorite thing about swimming? 
Having an excuse for not shaving my legs all winter.

Q: Being your first year in AF, what has been your favorite thing about the group? Learning to train hard and the improvements that come with it.

Q: What has been one of the biggest obstacles you have had to overcome this year and how has that made you a better swimmer? 
Biggest obstacle - being very emotional and crying during practice, I haven't overcome it yet.

Q: Why or what keeps you in the water and loving it?  
It keeps my life organized in and out of the water.
