Thumbnail image for I_Rongione.jpgThis Featured FISH started her attack on the record boards back during the Reindeer MINI Meet and has been lowering those times all season long. She qualified for the 50 free and 50 fly in the PVS 14 & Under Junior Olympic Championships as a 8 year old Mini FISH. Isabella Rongione loves to swim fast and work hard; it is her dedication and compassion for the sport that has allowed her to achieve incredible results. However, this isn't her most favorite thing about swimming, keep reading so you can find out...

Q: You have had a great year so far, from being the only 8 year old at the PVS 14 & Under Junior Olympic Championships to breaking 6 team records, what is your secret?
Isabella: I practice longer distances than in meets so it will seem easy and short when I participate in competition.

Q: Tell us one of your all time favorite sets you have done in practice?
Isabella: I liked the one where we did 500 free then 400 IM then 300 back, then 200 breast and 100 fly.

Q: What are your most favorite events?
Isabella: My favorite events are the 100 free, 50 free, 50 fly but I cannot wait to try long course.

Q: Who is your most influential person(s) in swimming? and why?
Isabella: I see all that Kate Ziegler accomplishes and I get more and more excited about swimming better. Plus she was really nice to me and taught me relay starts.

Q: What started you in swimming?
Isabella: My Mom and Dad tell me that they used to put me in the pool from when I was born and that I never liked getting out. I remember swimming without floaties for the first time when we were on vacation at Kiawah Island.

Q: What is your favorite thing about swimming?
Isabella: One of my favorite things about swimming is making new friends. Also, it's fun to do well at the swim meets and make my coaches and family happy!
