The first day at Sectionals just ended and if you were part of the audience, you witnessed some fantastic swimming by the Awesome FISH.
Four Awesome girls swam the 1500 m Free and Caylyn Tate swam a best time of 17:49:86 beating her old time by nearly 9 seconds. Kate Ziegler came in 1st, Caitlin Marsilii 4th, Caylyn Tate 6th and Toni Paris 15th.
Five Awesome boys swam the 800 m Free. Matthew Benecki (1st) swam a best time of 8:22:50 beating his old time by 8 seconds and qualifying for the Summer US OPEN 2008. Michael Flach (3rd) surpassed his seed time by 17 seconds; he swam an 8:28.91 qualifying for Junior National Championship. Adam Pennington (8th) swam a best time of 8:46:51 beating his old time by eight seconds. Brian Via (19th) also swam a best time of 8:59:60 and Alec Contag (28th) swam his best at a time of 9:05:35.
